Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the departure of several players as part of a carefully planned squad management strategy following a historic season that saw the Soweto giants end their long-standing trophy drought. The club has emphasised that these moves are focused on player development, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness, rather than short-term squad reduction.
The announcement includes loan and permanent moves involving both emerging talents and squad players, many of whom will continue their careers within the Premier Soccer League (PSL) ecosystem.
Chiefs Announce Loan Move for Goalkeeper Bontle Molefe
Among the confirmed departures, goalkeeper Bontle Molefe will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Leicesterford City FC.
In an official statement, Kaizer Chiefs confirmed:
“Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bontle Molefe will be joining Leicesterford City FC on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season.”
Leicesterford City are based in Mpumalanga and compete in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, South Africa’s national first division under the PSL banner.
Why Chiefs Approved the Molefe Loan Deal
According to the club, the decision to loan Molefe is rooted in a clear development philosophy rather than concerns over his potential.
Kaizer Chiefs explained:
“This loan move forms part of the Club’s broader strategy to ensure that its promising emerging talent gains valuable game time and the experience required to thrive at the highest level of the sport.”
With limited opportunities for consistent first-team action at Naturena, the club believes regular competitive football will accelerate Molefe’s growth and prepare him for future senior responsibilities.
